"DAY AWAKENING" by John Taft

Somehow, making a painting inspired by a place just a couple miles from one's home, makes it special in its own way. I have painted small studies on location in this convenient spot many a time. With "Day Awakening" I wanted to bring in the early dawn on the foothills, an effect I regularly observe from my kitchen table as I have my morning coffee. - John Taft
